Field of View
Radiation entering the SOFIE
telescope passes through a field stop
which defines the instantaneous field of view (FOV). The field
stop provides an angular field of
view of 1.8 arcmin vertical by 6.0 arcmin horizontal. The FOV
dimensions at the tangent point are about 1.2
km vertical by 4.1 km horizontal. A photograph of the actual
SOFIE field stop is shown in Figure 1.

SOFIE FOV response measurements
were made using point source mapping
and knife edge techniques. Two dimensional FOV distributions from
point source measurments are shown in Figure
2. The table below summarizes the point source results
from February 2006.
